I’ve been subscribed to Kickstart since it first started in 2002. It’s an essential read. Martin has an incredible ability to analyse trends and sum them up in a few words. He keeps you on top of all the trends in Internet marketing and is not afraid to say what he thinks.

Kickstart Newsletter, by Martin Avis, has been published since 2002. There aren’t many email newsletters that have been around for that long - and even fewer that have kept many of the same subscribers since the start!
Kickstart is different. Every issue is written and sent out live - not pre-written in bulk batches and published by autopilot. And it shows.
Why you'll love it...
Kickstart is hard to categorize. Some issues focus on making money online topics. Others major on time management. Sometimes personal development might take center stage. Or a host of other subjects that readers seem to enjoy.
And in amongst the ‘serious’ stuff (I rarely treat anything that seriously) you will find movie reviews, weird thoughts, interesting quotations, or any number of off-topic things that make life interesting.
Most issues also contain my review of one of the best Internet marketing products around.
My policy with product reviews is simple: I don’t ever review something until I have had hands-on experience and properly assessed it for myself AND found it to be honest, genuine, and good value. That means you won’t find me promoting every new product that comes out - no matter how many other marketers are promoting it. That way I miss out on a lot of affiliate commission, but I sleep well at night. And most importantly, YOU can trust me when I say something is worth a look.

Read what real readers say about Kickstart...
How many online marketing newsletters can you admit to remaining continuously subscribed to for more than a year or two? If you are like me then it won’t be too many. But, there is one I have remained faithful to since Issue 26 on 19th February 2002 which in those days was called BizE-zine but people today know it as Kickstart Newsletter.
So why have I never been tempted to press the Martin Avis unsubscribe button?
Because Martin has become like family to us. His newsletters are always full of interesting news whether it be about his delightful family (all of whom we have met on our travels to the UK) or well researched tips and products concerning the confusing world of internet marketing. Martin is also not afraid to say whether a product is not what it is purported to be which I find very refreshing in today’s world of sell at all costs and not being worried about burning your precious clients who are the future of your business.
One thing I find very interesting is how little the basics of Internet Marketing have changed over the years – mainly because being human doesn’t change. Take this excerpt from an e-zine I received from Martin on 18th July 2002, Issue 40:
I have revamped slightly the very first article I published way back in issue one. 'Six Ways of Making Money on the Internet Without Quitting Your Day Job' still has one of the longest titles I have written, and a year on, it still makes a lot of sense.
Here is a list of 6 questions that will lead you to decide how you can start making money with your own web site. It is not exhaustive: new ideas are being developed all the time, but it covers the bases:
> Do you want to sell hard products or digital products?
> Do you want to sell your own products, or someone else's?
> Do you want to concentrate on selling one product hard, or spread over a wide range of products?
> Do you want to accept payments online, or let other people deal with the money?
> Do you want to capture email addresses so that you can sell to them later?
> Do you want to run an affiliate program?
Let's look at these one at a time.
>>> Hard products, or digital products?
You can probably sell anything on the Internet.
However, if you are looking to run a business in your spare time, digital information products are the easiest to handle. Why? Simply because there is no inventory to worry about, it is all in computer files on your hard disk. Also, the products are delivered directly to your customer, instantly.
Amazing isn’t it? At the time I was fortunate enough to come across a mentor who has always stuck to his principles while offering truly valuable, honest, profitable, knowledgeable, and entertaining advice (it only becomes knowledge once you use it). I am sure you will agree – where else can you find something else like this?
Cheers – John Falkinder, Australia.
Martin you are a star, your Kickstart Newsletter is both informative and entertaining. As a long term reader I applaud your ability to share interesting and valuable content as well as sharing quality products with us.
You keep going even when times are tough.

I have been following Martin for quite a few years now and had the pleasure of meeting him at one of his “London lunches“ !
Martin is a rare breed of Internet marketer who gives amazing value and is highly trustworthy .
It’s got to the point now that when I get an email from Martin reviewing a product I often don’t even read the whole thing .
If the course or product is something I need in my business . I just buy it .
I trust Martin's opinion and if he has done his due diligence on a product it’s good enough for me.
Nick East
I've been in internet marketing for over 20 years, making a great full time living from it too. Martin Avis' Kickstart Newsletter is one I eagerly look forward to as it's chock full of useful info for anyone, newbie or veteran. He keeps up to date with trends, knows just about everyone and he always checks out the products he recommends and tells you if you need any of the upsells or not. You even get up to date info about which films are good or not as he loves the cinema! Check it out, add him to your contacts and open it fast!
Nicola Cairncross
Thanks for all of your help. I always read your emails. Why? because I always learn something from you to help with my marketing.
Your unique way of teaching is refreshing and you tell it like it is.
Greg Bey
I just wanted to express my appreciation for the sound sensible and honest advice available within your regular Kickstart emails.
I trust your experience and expertise in the field of Web Marketing and having purchased several products through your links over the last few years I have come to rely on your evaluations and practical advice before making an investment.

I have been a Kickstart reader since the first issue many years ago now. My inbox get filled up with hundreds of emails everyday, most of which I delete. Martin's Kickstart is different. It is one of the few emails that immediately open and read. I've been online now for over 20 years and known Martin for most of those years as one of the few genuine, honest marketers who does everything he can to help people out.
I've learned a lot from Martin and bought many of the products and services he has recommended.
So many years following you!
Sharp pen, amazing writer!
Whatever the topic, it is impossible not to read your mails through.
So smart at getting to the point, so sweet and charming at the same time.
Your writing skills at describing stuff have a magic touch that can only generate from a big heart!
Elsa Jock
I am a subscriber of your Kickstart Newsletter since before 2010. Happy to say that you are one of the very few Internet Marketers whom I respect and read their Newsletters though I receive more than hundred a day.
Why do you come in the top five on my list? Unlike other run-of-the-mill newsletters which are self-centered with the sole aim of pumping one after the other products they are affiliated to and make a sale somehow or other, Kickstart Newsletter stands heads and shoulders above in terms of the value it provides to the reader.
Though you do promote products (and nothing wrong in that) what makes yours different is, your newsletter is not a blatant marketing promotional mail. In short, reading a Kickstart newsletter is worth the time spending.
Another plus point is your writing style. Just like a poem it cascades down from one bit of information to another.
In fact, budding Internet Marketers as well as veterans can learn a lot from your writing style so that they do create quality Newsletters subscribers will look forward to reading.

I have been receiving Kickstart Newsletter for quite some time now and find Martin to be a genuine and sincere person. I have bought products that Martin has recommended as I trust Martin's reviews.

I have kept in touch with Martin over the years because he is on my 'Few' list - that is, the small number of people with whom I keep in touch. He first came to my attention when I received his Kickstart newsletter a long time ago.
The weekly publication contained very interesting subjects that ranged far and wide, but were always well-written and interesting. He provided also articles about numerous different niche subjects and they, too, were very popular.
I have no hesitation recommending Martin Avis and Kickstart Newsletter.
Derek Tither
Kickstart has always been a really interesting and really useful newsletter and one that I look forward to receiving. It's enabled me to make extra money and access great resources that I may not have encountered otherwise.
Knowing that it's written by a really genuine, knowledgeable person with extensive expertise and tapped into many experts really makes it a special resource that anyone can benefit from.
Definitely a must-read for any entrepreneur.
Andy Henry
I have to tell you that I have read Kickstart Newsletter for many years. Nothing much compares to it; others write newsletters but are constantly promoting stuff, and often more than a couple of products every day. Yours always has a nice balance of interest, including interesting snippets about your family, garden, moving house and even your health issues, plus what you have done that week (or not!).
Then of course sometimes a plug for a product; maybe one of yours or a fully researched opportunity. Even when you could not have had the time to look into the product you clearly state that too, so honesty is the best policy.
I have occasionally commented or asked for more information and have always received a timely helpful response.
Kickstart Junkie? Not quite but I do look forward to reading it as a breath of fresh air!
Thanks again for Kickstart and your help over the years and please feel free to use this email in anyway you choose, as I heartily recommend what you stand for.
Bob Harris
I would not be without Kickstart and over the years I have followed many successful ideas.
Richard Haigh
Over the years I have bought many programmes from Martin. He is one of very few people whose judgement I trust.
His opinions are unbiased and honest and based upon his own experience of running a successful online business. He even informs you of ones he has tested and didn’t like, and the reasons.
I fully recommend following Martin and reading Kickstart.
Ian Muir
Martin's newsletters provide his own unique combination of interest and value. Always worth a read.
Dr JH Lewis
I have been receiving Kickstart now for more years than I care to remember and really look forward to receiving it. I find it entertaining and it's great that Martin takes the time to research all the products before recommending them. It's a really good read and I love hearing what Martin's been up to in Sunny Sidcup.
Mike Rylance
I first became aware of Martin and his Kickstart Newsletter in October 2017. The newsletters are always balanced, non hypy and an interesting informal read. You always get a little update on Martin and his family which is really nice as it makes him a real person. I’ve picked up some real gems over the years and always look forward to the read when he drops in my inbox.
David Webster
I have opened, read (and saved) Kickstart newsletters for more than 10 years. Why? Because it's easy to read, often entertaining, provides gems of marketing wisdom and those reliable, puffery-free reviews.
In Marketing a great brand is 'consistent & persistent', to the keepers of the flame it is also a labour of love.
Kickstart is like the newsletter penned by the late Ted Nicholas - always a welcome diversion from the labours of the day.
Clive Holt-Bailey
Martin is one of the good guys in online marketing. I’ve known him for many years (even in real life!) and he is to be trusted. He has masses of integrity and never promotes anything without total honesty - I’ve even bought things on occasion on his say so without even reading the sales page! His writing skills are great so reading his regular newsletters is always a positive experience. I’m know I’m gushing, but he really is great :-)
Jo Dodds
Martin Avis is a very real guy who knows the Internet Marketing business as well as anyone out there.
He tells it like it is in the Kickstart Newsletter.
Frank Stewart
I first found Kickstart in March 2007. In the thirteen years since then, I’ve read every copy of the newsletter. I have a low boredom threshold and the only reason that I’m still looking forward to reading every new copy is that they are both interesting and informative.
I’ve bought several of Martin’s own products. They are well-written and have always delivered what they have promised. I’ve also come to rely on his recommendations for other products that he has personally used, describing them in his own words and not relying on the overblown sales stuff that comes with each of them.
Over the years I have come to regard Martin more as a friend than as a salesman. I’ve followed him from being the father of the bride to becoming a grandfather. I’ve been comforted by his commiserations when I told the world that my cat had been killed on the quiet country road where we lived. In short, he has become a trusted friend. That is the secret of his success.
Gordon Longworth
I have been reading Kickstart for years and also attended a number of Martin's London Lunches. He stands out from the crowd, wonderful common sense and unbiased reviews, if he recommends something it will be good, period. A good guy in a market crowded with charlatans and dodgy 'gurus', none better.
Dave Wedge
Like most people interested in Internet marketing, I end up on way too many lists and it is a constant struggle to try and keep focused and find the time to open every email. Often, I just scroll through and end up deleting 95% of them.
But when Martin Avis' newsletter "Kickstart" shows up, I open and read it. Every time. I've never been disappointed. The tone is genuine - there's no hype. When he highlights issues his insights are always valuable and I appreciate them. When he recommends a product, he doesn't try to sell - he just lays out the pros and cons. So when I buy one of them, I never get buyers remorse.
Kickstart is a great newsletter. It's been around for years while others have come and gone. It's steady, well worth my time and I trust Martin Avis because he's proven he doesn't use spin.
Peter Kavanaugh
I have read the Kickstart newsletter since I can't remember when, but hey that's over ten years. I first started to read it because I loved Martin's style, his relaxed way of speaking.
I have to admit I first started to read Kickstart because I wanted to be a better communicator. Since then I have met Martin many times at his incredible London lunches and now I read Kickstart because I love it.
Whatever reason you have for subscribing you won't be disappointed. Martin has forgotten more about marketing than most people ever learn.
Catherine Ford
I've been following Martin for years now. I always look forward to his insights and comic relief from the mundane. I have purchase some of his recommended offerings, too.
His newsletters are something I stop to read each time.
Chuck Hall
The Kickstart Newsletter is one email that I can honestly say I never knowingly miss. Within my inbox it is
a shining beacon in a sea of hype. Martin's newsletter has a different, more personal style than the norm in this industry.
I look forward to reading about what he is up to and seeing what he is recommending this week. He is very selective in what
he recommends and his judgement is invariably good.
Chris Archer
The Kickstart Newsletter is one of the only emails I open up on a regular basis. Despite all the information out there, Martin provides extremely valuable and trustworthy information. All the programs and information provided is well vetted prior to being sent out and I can honestly say I’m super happy with everything I learn from being part of this “community!” Thanks for all your hard work and amazing support!
Alona Amsel
KICKSTART NEWSLETTER from Martin Avis, is one I always like receiving and make time to read. It's always filled with humorous and timely social comment combined with a motivational mix of marketing offers to purchase. These have easy to understand explanations, are reasonably priced and have reassuring guarantees. I am right now considering one such hot marketing topic on offer.
Jane Marney
I always enjoy Kickstart and your webinars and the products I have purchased from you. You give good honest advice.
Michael Greenland
Hi Martin I really want thank you for your Kickstart Newsletter. It gives me lots of ideas and your suggestions and recommendations are always are always good - and if they are not you say so! I would recommend anyone to sign up to your Kickstart Newsletter to further their affiliate marketing.
Philip Twyman
I have been a member of Martin's Kickstart Newsletter for many years which for me provides a haven of safety and trust against the ever increasing barrage of products that daily batter our computer screens. Much of this stuff unfortunately is recycled rubbish but you can rely on Martin with his considerable expertise to show his lucky members which ones are worthy of attention. He hardly ever makes an error of judgement but on the very rare occasions he does it is most usually because he himself has been misled and in such situations immediately lets all members know. Martin's vast knowledge together with his integrity and humour makes the Kickstart Newsletter an indispensable tool in the business of internet marketing and I always look forward to reading it.
Patrick Briddon
Kickstart is the only IM related newsletter that I read and continue to read. All the others I've hit UNSUBSCRIBE.
Mel Calaby
Martin was one of the first online marketers that I subscribed to (so long ago that I don't even remember how many years back!) and one of the very few people I still trust online.
Dale Watts
I have been receiving Martin Avis' "Kickstart Newsletter" since 2010 and always look forward to seeing what he has to say. Martin always comes across as a decent and genuine guy, unlike many others in the Internet Marketing arena and his emails will never be on my 'unsubscribe' list when I'm having a clear-out of my inbox!
Mike Broome
Martin Avis and the Kickstart newsletter has been coming in to my inbox since January 2015 and I hope it will continue to for many more years.
The product reviews are invaluable so if you have an interest in internet marketing then sign up today.
Seamus McEvoy
I'm not sure how long I have been on Martin's list at least 10 years from memory. During that period I have purchased a good number of his products and those that he recommended along with accepted his recommendations for website hosting and email autoresponders along with a whole load of other odds and sods.
His regular email always contains something worth knowing if it's about a product, his family or a film has been to see recently. He always adds value.
If you are not currently on his list then you should be. For me Martin is one of the the true statesman of the internet marketing industry, he's also bloody good writer.
Richard Smith
I have been a subscriber to Kickstart Newsletter for a good number of years.
I have valued Martin's wealth of knowledge and honesty in everything that he writes. He calls it how he sees it.
The recommendations in the newsletter are recommendations after he has purchased them and tried them out.
I feel that with Martin's newsletter, it is as if he is writing personally to me with his recommendations and the updates on him and his family.
The Kickstart Newsletter is one of the few emails I look forward to seeing in my inbox.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.
John Fyfe
“I have been a subscriber to Kickstart Newsletter for several years, and I can say it is one of the few newsletters that I look forward to receive. As for advice and comments related to Internet marketing, it is relevant, to the point, not too long, not too short. In some – but not all – issues there are recommendations, based on Martin's own testing and evaluation. Additionally, in many of the issues you’ get entertaining glimpses of life in everyday England.
I have been following you for years, because I love the way you write! I find your stories so enjoyable, with a variety of themes, but what I adore is your sharing with us such little personal important details such as the picture of your grandson, or events of your daughters, gardening, or your going about in quarantine with Delia.
I am located in Santiago, Chile, and currently I am working from home.
Keep on with the good and pleasant writing, I wish you the best of luck in all aspects of your life.
Monica Faundez
Honest down-to-earth advice about marketing with a friendly smile ... what more could you want?
I'm amazed that you've managed to consistently create such awesome and entertaining content for so many years, Martin ... there's no-one else (absolutely no-one) who's lasted so long in my inbox!
David Watson
I’ve been a regular reader of Kickstart for some years now. It’s personally engaging and I’ve bought several products based on Martin’s comments and recommendations – and have never been let down. Also to be welcomed are his ‘negative’ reviews. These are invaluable and have probably saved me money and a good deal of time. So, thank you Martin and please keep up the excellent work and the presses rolling.
Mike O'Neill
For over twenty years I have been very interested in the Internet Business. Over many years now, I have found Martin to be honest and straight. He is so, almost to the extent of being 'ridiculous'. He puts honesty completely above making a bob. I often wonder whether he is interested in making money! I know so because I have tried him many times.
A rare and endangered 'species' in the Internet Jungle, like him, deserves to be treasured and cherished .
I recommendation strongly that you take up his Kickstart Newsletter. You will very soon find out why I am extolling his virtues to such an extent.
Azeem Diwan
I've been a reader of Kickstart for many years. Kickstart has a good balance, if you want to know about Internet marketing, you need Martin Avis and Kickstart. If you want a good relationship with who sends you messages, Martin is your guy; it's rather like your brother or someone quite close to you just dropping a line. If you have a question he will reply to you, very pleasantly and often with humour.
You get to know what is going on in his locality, and when there is an addition to his family. When they used to go to the cinema you would get his and Delia's opinion on the film.
Of all the things that have come into my life and then gone again, Kickstart remains, I wouldn't dream of cancelling and have recommended Martin Avis to many friends and associates - at least double figures for that one.
I know of no-one else who has his finger on the pulse of the Internet of what is good and worthwhile. Martin Avis stands for honesty and integrity and that, these days is rare.
Shirley Caldwell
What can I say I have been on your list for years and I absolutely love the Kickstart newsletter and I'm not sure exactly which parts stand out in my mind as been the most exciting or giving the most value, but I have recognised the more I read the more I find myself wanting to learn more because I began to realised that I was learning something of fantastic value for all my own reasons.
Having had the pleasure of actually meeting you once at the London lunch you were very helpful in person as well giving loads of excellent advice.
Brian Smith
I heartily recommend Martin Avis' Kickstart Newsletter. Martin is one of the doyens of internet marketing who can be relied on to give honest reviews of internet products. His occasional film reviews are an added bonus!
Barrie Segal
I really enjoy Kickstart as Martin is such an interesting writer. He does not promote most of the rubbish that other marketers do, but usually recommends products by reputable marketers, that will contribute to your online education, which is essential if you want to make progress.
The best thing you can do is invest in yourself, you cannot possibly expect to change your working life and learn how to work from the comfort of your own home, for free or for peanuts. If you follow Martin's advice and buy a quality product then take action and see it through, you will greatly increase your chance of success.
John Morrod
I thoroughly enjoy reading Martin’s email blasts. He writes with great enthusiasm mixed with a ton of heart and gentle humour, sharing the love he has for his wife Delia and his daughters and grandchildren, his delight at great movies and living the Internet lifestyle.
Plus his passion to share the very best products to help people make money online while not afraid to point out the piles of poor products that are out there too.
Martin delights, inspires and enthuses with skill, compassion and humility.

I have been subscribed to Martin's Kickstart Newsletter for a long time. Someone I trust recommended it and that meant high expectations, which, to my delight, were met.
First of all, there's Martin's writing style, which is personal, with an intimate voice. He is a master of addressing you like a close friend.
Kickstart is one of the relatively few newsletters actually worth reading. The main content of each edition is entertaining, gives useful information and tips, and Martin even excels in the art of ending before it gets boring.
Any products that Martin promotes, he does so with the genuine intent of helping. He always knows what he is talking about and there is never any buying pressure or hard selling.
He would undoubtedly make a lot more money from commissions by joining the "email marketing" lot and promoting products of a certain type. But Martin is indeed a man of integrity. He simply recommends products that he knows are solid, from trustworthy vendors.
For these reasons, I'm happy to recommend a Kickstart Newsletter subscription to anyone even remotely interested in online business.
Hans Brakke
Over 10 or so years I have subscribed to many email newsletters and invariably unsubscribed at some point as they all became a waste of time, with no content and only promos for the latest 'must-have' product.
However, there is one newsletter that I do remain subscribed to, and genuinely look forward to reading every time it arrives in my inbox, That newsletter is 'Kickstart' from Martin Avis.
It is informative and entertaining, and if Martin does promote something, he does so with an honest review, with both pros and cons, having actually tried the product himself.
Martin's Kickstart Newsletter also feels like it's written for each individual reader as he recounts tales of trips to the shops (good and bad), tells you what movies he recommends, and with all stories of his family's ups and downs over the years, I almost feel as though I know them all personally.
It is that personal touch that Martin adds to every newsletter which confirms there is a real, genuine person creating it, and I will certainly remain a subscriber for as long as he writes it.
